$707 billion: inside the 2026 Rich List
Gina Rinehart leads again, and AI and data-centre founders appear for the first time.

The combined wealth of the Financial Review Rich List rose $39 billion this year to $707 billion, and 178 of the 200 people on it are billionaires.
Gina Rinehart remains first at $39.01 billion, ahead of Harry Triguboff ($32.29 billion) and Anthony Pratt and family ($25.19 billion). Canva’s Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht, at $17.56 billion, are the youngest in the top ten.
The new money is telling. Fifteen people made their debut, among them the first founders from artificial intelligence and data centres, including Swipejobs founder Katrina Leslie ($2.5 billion) and Firmus co-founder Oliver Curtis ($1.25 billion).
Women now account for 48 places, up from 42 a year earlier.
