Zimmermann’s Paris moment: a rue Royale billboard and a Coogee grandmother
The Sydney sisters’ label is treating Paris as its second home.

Nicky and Simone Zimmermann founded their label in Sydney in 1991. In September 2026 its Fall collection, ‘Trailblazer’, went up on a billboard at 10 rue Royale in Paris, between the Place de la Concorde and the Madeleine. The campaign was photographed by Anthony Seklaoui.
The collection’s Paris Fashion Week show drew Oprah Winfrey, Jessica Chastain, Lily James and Naomi Watts. Nicky Zimmermann drew on powerful Australian women of the 1920s, including her own grandmother, who was a lifesaver at Coogee Beach at a time when women were not expected to be.
The clothes moved from sportswear and workwear structure to evening pieces with lingerie detail: Art Deco-printed bubble-hem gowns, feather-embellished shifts, antique-inspired tailoring and blue velvet trousers.
The label calls it balancing utility and femininity. For Australian fashion, it is a Sydney house setting the terms on the world’s biggest runway.
